SLIP UP KIMONO DRESS

Slip dress with V-neck and front pleats at the chest.

Made in diagonal patchwork with panels taken from the silk of two antique kimonos found in Japan.

• A blue kimono with a plum blossom ("ciruela-ume") symbolizing resilience in the face of adversity. The floral details are hand-painted using the Kaga yūzen technique, characterized by its realistic depiction of natural motifs. These motifs are hand-drawn and then painted onto the fabric, which is covered with rice paste to set the color.  prior to dyeing the background color.
• Black kimono with Hagi print made up of small leaves that resemble coffee beans.
